Soulful Symphony

Soulful Symphony and the BSO are making history through an unprecedented partnership. Soulful Symphony is a stunning orchestra comprised of 75 exceptionally talented African-American musicians. Founded in 2000 by renowned composer, conductor, and pianist Darin Atwater, Soulful Symphony blends virtually every genre of music-- gospel, jazz, classical and more-- into a completely original musical experience that will move your feet and stir your soul.

Soulful Symphony is so much more than simply an orchestra. We provide the opportunity for talented African-American musicians to express themselves and achieve their dreams. We go into your community with our educational and outreach programs to share our message of diversity through music. And, we bring African-American composers, artists, and musical genres to audiences who might never have the chance to hear them.
