As chronicled in September's eNewsletter, New Jersey Symphony violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins is a world-class violinist and polyglot. She was recently invited by the Hallmark Channel's "New Morning" Show hosted Timberly Whitfield to give a featured performance of the Mozart Duo for Violin and Viola K.423 with violinist/violist Orlando Wells. Ms. Whitfield hand-picked Hall-Tompkins after reading an article in one of many magazines that she has graced from Chamber Music America to Spirituality and Health.

Her latest project? A program called the Music Kitchen/Food for the Soul where Ms. Hall-Tompkins is founder and director. Music Kitchen gives in-house concerts for homeless shelter residents. It's definitely worth finding out more about this humanitarian endeavor.

Check out Music Kitchen for more information and ways that you can help. The featured New Morning show is entitled "Paying it Forward." The show will air on September 11 at 7am on the Hallmark Channel in your area. Check your local listings.

Music Kitchen Food for the Soul Founder Kelly Hall-Tompkins to Appear on
Hallmark Channel New Morning Show on September 11

Music Kitchen Food for the Soul founder Kelly Hall-Tompkins will appear
on Hallmark Channel’s New Morning show on September 11 at 7 AM EST. The
theme of the show is "Paying it Forward." The interview with host
Timberly Whitfield features a performance of the Mozart Duo for Violin
and Viola K.423 by Ms. Hall-Tompkins and Orlando Wells. More about the
show at http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/publish/content/consumer/home.html.

Kelly Hall-Tompkins (http://www.kellyhall-tompkins.com) founded Music
Kitchen-Food for the Soul in March of 2005 in order to bring terrific
musicians together to share the inspirational, therapeutic, evocative
and uplifting power of chamber music with New York City’s
disenfranchised homeless shelter population. Their performances are not
public concerts but rather in-house concerts for the shelter clients.

Music Kitchen is privately funded and based at Holy Trinity Lutheran
Church Shelter on 65th Street and Central Park West and the Olivieri
Center. The performances of the Music Kitchen are designed to be
accessible, interactive and informative so that the listeners will come
away with an emotional connection to the music and a familiarity with
the context from which the composer wrote the works. They have been the
subjects of recent articles in Chamber Music magazine and Spirituality &
Health.
