Each entry on the individuals will consist of the following elements: - Professional name and year of birth. If birth name differs, this will also be included.
- Vocal Fach (soprano, mezzo-soprano, contralto, countertenor, tenor, baritone, bass-baritone, bass).
- Photograph
- Identification of management or e-mail address of performer.
- Bibliography of fully cited print literature on the individual.
- Web site URLs.
- Recordings (format: LP, CD, DVD, etc.} composer and title, all performers with roles sung, pianists, orchestras, conductor; full record label and issue number; year of issue, album title).
- Performances (composer, title, all involved performers; city and venue; date[s]). There will be an index of composer, work, and performer suitable to encourage bookings.
The manuscript presently runs more than 1,000 pages. It will not include excerpted quotations of critics or biographies. PLEASE pass this information on to others! Deadline for response: End of 2007. [1] Inclusion of undergraduates will be exceptional, while it will be virtually assumed that, starting with graduate or advanced study, these students will have appeared professionally. [2] Cab Calloway will be among those unexpectedly included. His stage debut was in Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer. And productions such as Porgy and Bess or Carmen Jones will necessitate inclusion of yet others.
